How do you download brushes on to Photoshop CS2?

I was wondering, because I just got Adobe photoshop CS2, and i have no idea how to add brushes. Like I download them, and they don't show up in the icon that is labeled "brushes" on the Navigator bar.

The brush files you download should have a suffix of .abr.

To load them, open a document
Select the brush tool.
Right click (PC) or Option Click (Mac) to get the Brush contextual menu. In that menu, go to the flyout menu (little triangle at the top of the menu).
Select Load Brushes.
A dialog box will open, navigate to the downloaded brush set and select it.

You can either append the new brushes to the existing set or replace.

Done.

How do you scan multiple photos at once in photoshop cs2?

I have heard there is a way to scan several photos at once and save them as different files for photoshop cs2 . How?

What you're thinking of is the "Crop and Straighten" command, which helps you make separate image files from multiple images in a single scan.

Here's how:

What is the difference between photoshop cs2 and all of the others?

I know there are loads of different versions of photoshop, but my mom and I came across photoshop cs2 and wondered if it was the latest next to photoshop cs3, and what the difference between it and the others are….?

CS2 is outdated, meaning it has fewer features. The latest version is Adobe CS3, which was released April 2007.

For a quick rundown of top new features in CS3 read this article:

Hope this helps.

How can i color images from using Adobe photoshop CS2 to make a cyan photo and a red photo?

i'm trying to make a 3d photo wearing 3d-glasses to view them from using adobe photoshop cs2. and i'm wondering how you can do that by using that program.

I hope you don't mind long thorough answers:

You could use the approach mentioned at http://www.wikihow.com/Make-3D-Photos - but this is only good if your stereogram ("3d image") is perfectly aligned and you don't want to keep any color.

Poorly aligned images will be uncomfortable to view, and will easily provoke headaches.

The best program you can get to make stereograms (of any kind, not just red/cyan) is Stereo Photo Maker. It is free and can be downloaded from http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/ - it is free!

If you want the program to automatically align your images, you will have to download autopano sift separately (due to copyright restrictions): http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/help/panoinstall.htm

Now, red/cyan stereograms will ruin the colors of your image, and generally look a bit bad. What I recommend is to practice viewing stereogram pairs cross-eyed. Then you get full color and quality, and you do not need glasses! A little practice is required to be able to do it - and in the beginning you might have some headaches (not dangerous).
Here's some examples I made a while back:
http://eeheik.notlong.com (it's flikr, but it has an {a} in it and yahoo won't support it)

Sit about 1+m from the monitor and relax. Now defocus your eyes so you see double (4 images). Now slowly bring your eyes back until the middle two images merge (3 images). Now do not move, and let your eyes focus on the middle image.
Tricky, but with exercise you won't even have to concentrate to do it :D

If you open a stereo pair in stereo photo maker, you can choose to display it as a red/cyan stereogram as well to view it with your glasses :)

I need Adobe photoshop elements but don't want to buy it online. Is there any main stream retailers like office works or harvey norman that perhaps would sell this software. please help.

i am positive you can get it at these major stores. dicksmith electronics, harvey norman, powerhouse, officeworks etc. Computer shops would of course stock them. You could even try EB games, myer and david jones. Good luck is good software once you can get your hands on it.

How do I change my default adobe program, so the items open Adobe reader and not Adobe Photoshop?

I know how to change the defaults so that items that are saved on my computer open in Adobe Reader vs Photoshop. I also know how to right click and openwith reader over an another adobe program. However, when trying to open some items in links/hyperlinks that are PDFs, my computer still opens them in photoshop. The default setting on my computer for PDFs, listed in the folder options, is set to open in Adobe Reader.

Right click on the PDF and choose Open With. Select Adobe Reader and check the box to always use this application, then press ok.

Is it difficult to learn Adobe Photoshop on your own, without taking a class?

I've read that it can be useful in creating compositions for drawing and painting. Do you think I could teach myself with the software and books or videos from the library? Also, what other uses does Adobe Photoshop offer for the visual artist (painters, not photographers)?

Yes and no. No, it is pretty intuitive and you can do the basics almost instantly.
Yes, there are so many options that you would never think of you should at least do the tutorials to get acquainted with the possibilities. Someone to guide you to get it right would be of great help.

Also stuff like layers and how to use them may need some explaining but it is all there in the Photoshop. Like all tools it takes time and skill to get good results.

I often use it to get my color scheme right or a composition.
