Enhancing facial features in photoshop such as moving the eyes, mouth and nose are for the more advanced techniques within photoshop, this article will cover the simple steps on altering facial features.

One thing you should always do while you’re always working is save your changes, I know it sounds simple but I’ve so many people not save there work and then loose it.

First grab your facial image of whom your are going to change. Then start off by doing the following. Darkening there eyes and expanding the pupils are always good ways to make a facial image more intriguing. To expand the pupils zoom in and use the lasso tool and select a little outside the eyes, but you must make sure you don’t catch any lights or reflections in them, then darken the selected area to match the tone of the rest of the person’s pupil. Or you could select the whole of the iris and use the levels to darken them.

Next you can start on then nose, but this doesn’t really change there expression. Start by using the lasso tool and draw around the nose, and also include some of the surrounding face, this when you apply a generous feather radius of 30 – 70 pixels. A good tip here is copy the selection to new layer and use the free transform to basically do anything you like to there nose, like squash, stretch, lengthen and even broaden it. Also you can even move there nose up or down.

Next you can try filling out there lips, this will increase appeal, you can use the liquefy filter for this. When you are fine tuning your picture make sure the show image box is ticked and using the boat tool click and hold on to the lips, you can also try using the pucker tool to thin the lips. Another great tip is to only give it a few clicks this gives it the natural look.

The simplest way to create a smile is by using the liquefier’s forward warp tool, all you need to do is turn up the edges of the mouth just a touch. You only need a very little movement here, and it all depends on how the person mouth to how much you can get away with, here’s a great tip for you try dragging the inner edges of the eyelids down slightly as, otherwise you’ll smile won’t match. You could also use the pinch tool to slightly narrow the same area.
