So just how easy is it to remove red eye in photoshop?

Red eye is the bane of many a great picture, and it’s caused by the flash from your camera bouncing back from the blood vessels at the back of your eye, this causes the persons pupils to glow red.

If you think red eye is bad on humans wait to you take a picture of your pet, the strange red eye you get on pets is because they have a tint of green. Now comes the power of Photoshop and elements, both include several options on removing red eye.

In this article I will be showing which method works on all the versions.

Six easy steps to adjusting your red eye problem in photoshop.

1- Ok bring you image up which you are making the adjustments to. Select the red pupil, and bring your section toolbox up and choose the Elliptical Marquee Tool.

2- Now you need to hold down the (Alt) / (Option) key, and the click in the centre of the eye and drag it outwards to draw a marquee around the persons affected red eye.

3- You now have to click the “New Adjustment Layer” button in the layers palette and select Hue/Saturation from the menu.

4- Now select the reds from the edit menu at the top of the Hue/Saturation dialog then target the unwanted red pixels in your red eye.

5- Ok nearly there, now drag the saturation slider left to reduce the intensity of the red pixels, your selected area should now to turning grey.

6- Ok now the last and final step, just drag the lightness slider bar to the left to turn the grey pupils in to a more realistic looking black pupil.

You should now have the perfect picture or image with that annoying red eye.
